TV series have taken a bit of a down time in recent months. However, things are about to get exciting again so you can look forward to all new series as well as some returning favourites (none of which include reality TV).
Westworld is one of HBOs brand new series set to premier in October 2016. It’s produced by J.J. Abrahams and is in the Science Fiction and Thriller genres. The story, however, is not an entirely new one as it’s based on the 1973 film of the same name. The series is set to be a big hit and might even follow Game of Thrones in terms of popularity. Fans of artificial intelligence and futuristic landscapes will be appreciative of Westworld.
Black Mirror is a series that is compiled of stand-alone episodes. The show brings to light some dark and satirical questions about the future of humankind and often questions the role that technology has to play. Black Mirror has recently moved over to Netflix. Fans of this Emmy Award winning series can expect the premiere of season 3 in October 2016.
Tutankhamun is an all new series that covers the tale of Tutankhamun’s supposedly cursed tomb. The series is in four-parts and is set in 1905 where Howard Carter (Max Irons) leads an expedition in Egypt. Fans of a good archaeological mystery can expect Tutankhamun to premiere in October 2016.
The Grand Tour
Following the exit from the ever-popular Top Gear series, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May embark on an all new journey in The Grand Tour. The show was picked up by Amazon Prime Video and will feature Clarkson, Hammond and May travelling around the globe and doing what they’re known to do best. The first episode of the very first season is set to premier in November 2016.
Gilmore Girls: a Year in the Life
Gilmore Girls is of course the continuation of the story of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. Gilmore Girls originally had 7 seasons with the last episode airing in 2007. The show has been revived by Netflix and should make fans of the series completely happy as they get to meet all their favourite characters again. The show is expected to premiere in November 2016.
